Maggi noddles

Magi:yellow color spicy noodles eatn when you are in agood mood or you just catch hold of one.but seriously I don’t know how important is for most of the people but for me it ‘was’ my favorite food….and now has become a staple..yes

Staple..bcz since time time I hv stated ‘workin’..i have no other option.

And then I thought how important it has become for me, my source of basic nutrients and to fill my tummy.

I lv magi,my best frand loves maggi.and we have actually developed ingenious and different ways to make maggi with onion, tamatos, ghee etc etc….most of you must have also..

Since I was a baccha(many claim that I still am) I know how I used to have a maggi when eva that feel good factor came..geting good marks(rare occasion..heh heh..) or some occacion…

And in my deep search about maggi and its importance I googled and wikied and got to know many thngs….different flavor..atta noodle…Dal Sambar ( whole wheat noodles )..etc etc…ya ya good info…..

And recently the company I work did a sting on how 200 mg wali maggi is now 190 mg…who cares..im getng it and enjoyng it so…(ya the smell of affluence is there)…

Oky..tme for a break from my work and head for canteen for a maggi break…

Fast to cook good to eat! But this fast food has been reported to create a lot of health hazards. So beware, don’t make it a staple diet.

hey dude...im a maggi lover myself and you absolutely have to try this recipe i invented....boil noodles separately...fry your basic chowmein veggies with onion and add the tastemaker to it... fry a little...it will give off a great aroma...then add the boiled noodles and keep it a little soupy...do add a little salt and pepper before serving... i swear frying the masala really makes it double tasty!!!!

I completely understand your feelings. Don’t know how many lazybones would have been starved to death without Maggi!
But no matter how many new flavors come up, I still love the vintage Maggi with tomato ketchup!

@siddhant:

”and ya its now staple by my oh-so-busy-schedule and nt by choice..” shows that somewhere you are compromising with health food. Maggi noodles are certainly very tasty and make a great snack. But using it as a substitute for the main course is a matter of concern, specifically so when more and more people are opting for it owing to busy lifestyles.

I still don’t understand the hue and cry about maggi not being healthy. Yeah, there have been a few murmers now and then, but nothing has been proven conclusively. By the way, Nestle have come with plenty of variants to make maggi more healthy. That makes it a food that is pretty compelling, not to mention convenient too.

Lol, healthy or unhealthy, the point is that Maggi is still the best and the yummiest option amongst the quickest ready to eat meals. I too don’t really promote eating it regularly but I do agree that Nothing beats the basic Maggi masala flavor.

as i told earlier maggi is definitely a nice item to have and even i luv its taste, but the point is people having it in place of their main course. You try living on maggi alone for lunch and dinner for the next two years and then let me know what this spicy friend of yours does to your stomach.

Thinking about maggi noodles and those good old days in school, when having ’maggi’ would remind us of the famous catch line .. ” BAAS DOOO MINATEEE”, is something like nostalgia. Now that I have grown up a ’lilttle’, the flavour of the maggi noodles coupled with the sauce on it, still flashes in the remote corner of the mind !!!

Maggi used to be my favorite dish some 2-3 years back. But it’s place has now been taken by pasta though pasta takes little more time o cook but it is more delicious than maggi!

I love maggie like anything. You might be surprised but one of my friends thrived on it while she was in a weight loss programme. I guess I cannot dream to be without maggie. I have it atleast thrice a week. The taste will never die.

I must say it is really really very interesting to know that our dear old Maggi has so many lovers. People gorge on stuff like Maggi noodles, soft drinks and similar stuff and say nothing happened to them. Good. I wish that you remain that way. But that does not mean that these are very healthy stuff. Just take a look at the ingredients and you will come to know. I repeat this is great stuff for a snack….and of course high levels of carbohydrate, high saturated fats, low fiber, low vitamins and minerals are indeed a great surprise in the diet of a weight loser.

Maggi: The two minute noodles!

I still remember the first time I saw this ad on my B/W TV. I was a kid then, and Maggi was a newborn (in India). Since then, Maggi has come a very long way... and endured the harshest and lamest of criticisms that came into its way.

Now, a couple of decades later, I have grown up into a wise man (strictly my personal opinion!) and Maggi has practically conquered the whole of India. Though I’m not an ardent fan of Maggi, I do indulge in those two-minute try-outs once in a while; and take liberties and try mingling Maggi with whatever strikes my brain (or my taste buds in fact) to come up with some surprise winners.

My fav is Maggi+soft-boiled eggs+green peas+onion garnished with a generous slice of butter. Though the process runs well beyond two minutes, its worth every millisecond that goes into it.

However, the permutation and combination is endless. But, rest assured, Maggi excels in any form!

Only yesterday, I tried Maggi with a much simpler thing- good ol’ chat masala and believe me, it was better that Smokin Joes’s. Am I exaggerating? Who cares! As long as I get to eat my noodles the way I want, I don’t really care about absurdity in comparison.

As far as the health part is concerned, it is perfectly healthy. And if anyone wants to argue with me on this point, I request him/her to open a fresh debate. PLEASE DON’T SPOIL THE FUN HERE.

P.S. Fresh Recipes Welcome!

Of course its really time for you guys to welcome some fresh recipes.

I am not at all offended. Infact it was great fun coming back over and over again to reply to u guys. Just think abt it, what’s the fun if everybody agrees with a single point? Interactions of this kind make a community stronger and different opinions should be entertained in a sportive spirit and I like your spirit. Infact all members should try to maintain that spirit and let our community grow.

Thank you :)...I would have felt bad if I were in your place, hence the apology :)..Well, Instablogs is an amazing medium which lets everyone to share a piece of his/her mind freely, and it is inevitable that it will get some forceful opposition..:)

I agree with Aneez bhai. I reiterate the fact that nothings wrong with Maggi. If it really was, Nestle wouldn’t have been it for ages now. At the end of the day, nobody’s gonna eat maggi four times a day for years. Too much of anything is a little too bad. So i guess that applies with maggi as well. did somebody just mention, variety being the spice of life.

So you call us ”blissfully ignorant”. Thats a nice and huge word to use. Amusing it is to hear people going about calling others ignorant. So i assume you must be very learned for all you’ve uttered out here on Instablogs. Meanwhile, thanks for being so enlightened and teaching us the ”LIFE SKILLS” we desperately lack. Cheers!

Maggi is an indispensible part of childhood memories of most, if not all, indians! There is something about 2 minute that maggi that you can’t even wait for 2 mts to stomach it down! LOL, still can’t and probably will go down to have it after readin so much about it.

Thanks for your reciprocation. But there is a certain point that I would like to discuss with you.
Coming to expressing oneself freely, maybe in a virtual or a real environment, don’t you think there is a certain charm in expressing oneself in an assertive tone? You know by doing so the other person will try to see the sense in your point and act accordingly. But you know forceful expression is a very delicate thing. You don’t know the degree of your forcibility and the effect it has on the other person. In such a situation the other person develops an offensive or defensive attitude (whatever you might think best) that works as a barrier to receiving your message objectively. Ultimately you run the risk of not getting your message across (which is your main aim while commenting). Moreover it will only develop hostilities which are bad for the health of any community, whether virtual or real.

So according to me expressing yourself freely but assertively, especially with new acquaintances is the best way to communicate in a public forum. What do you say?
1 Stars
@leena
That’s precisely what you need to do rather than going about calling all and sundry ”blissfully ignorant”. As you said, the line between forceful expression and know-it-all expression is a extremely thin one to tread. BTW why do you need to be forcefully expressive, isn’t being expressive sufficient enough? Forceful expression more often than not serves to put the wrong message across which is certainly the case here. But then again, we live in this wonderful country where we have the right to express ourselves. So i guess forceful expression too has to be accorded it’s very own space even though it goes a little further than just being a means of expression. BTW, imho putting your expression across will serve your cause better than trying to assert it, more so in a public, unmoderated forum like Instablogs.

Think about the daily laborer who blissfully downs bottles of crude country liquor everyday without iota knowledge of the health hazards it causes or for that matter think about a victim of a life threatening disease who is unaware of it. Both are ignorant of the impending doom. But that ignorance gives them peace and happiness.

Think about the poor guy who calls his plain Jane daughter Queen Victoria just to make her happy and she feels on top of the world on hearing that and believes in that. Her ignorance gives her an invaluable bliss.

Proceeding further think about how it would be if we were aware of certain natural processes like our digestive system at work, the cosmic processes… if we could see beyond the VIBGYOR and heard beyond the audible range of 20 Hz to 20kHz. Its again the ignorance that nature has endowed upon us that we are able to conserve our sanity.

Lastly, many of us believe in a divine force and a moral police up there. Even amongst the ones who believe in it, the interpretations are different, the reasons for respecting and praying that very entity are different. We all set our own individual moral standards and peacefully work upto them. We don’t know the absolute…again an example of bliss derived from ignorance.

So ultimately when the bliss derived from ignorance is giving us such a lot of composure, happiness, peace of mind and is a great source of sustenance for the living beings is it actually a wrong terminology to use against anybody?

When I applied the term I only meant to say like Jesus that let them be happy God, for they know not what they do(ha! ha! ha !) and leave you guys to your happiness. Jokes apart, I just wanted to leave you guys to your happiness… and that gives me the liberty to use it all the more wherever, whenever and however I want to (ha ha ha)

BTW thanks for all that enlightenment on community communication.. It certainly looked as though we were holding a communication skills class in a Maggi noodles festival.

And lest i forget, i ain’t here to ”preach” and teach people. I guess most people here at Instablogs are way too learned than me. That said, I further reiterate the fact that I’m a daily wager who likes to give his opinions ”without trying to enforce them on people”. If everyone think alike, the world would be one very boring place!
